How to Scrape Google Search Results in 2026 (Without Getting Blocked)

Google blocks scrapers within minutes. Here's the modern stack that returns clean SERPs at scale.
Why DIY Google scraping fails fast
Google fingerprints aggressively: TLS, HTTP/2 priority frames, header order, mouse-movement signals, and IP reputation. A naïve requests-based scraper from a datacenter IP gets a CAPTCHA within ~50 requests.
Option 1: Residential proxies + parser
Use city-targeted residential IPs (Bright Data, Decodo, Oxylabs) with a maintained HTML parser. Cheaper per request but you eat the maintenance overhead when Google ships a markup change.
Option 2: SERP API
Oxylabs SERP, Bright Data SERP, Decodo SERP, SerpApi. Pay per request, get structured JSON, no parser maintenance. The default for most teams above 10K SERPs/day.
Local pack, Maps, and SGE
Each requires its own approach. Local pack and Maps need real city-targeted residential IPs. SGE/AI Overviews are gated and best accessed through SERP APIs that handle the experimental UI.
